You still might not be richer than more than a third of Bosnian, Serbian and Croatian population, who are currently affected by the floods. They might have lost their houses, their crops, their cattle, family memories, documents...everything one might have in a lifetime...but they haven't lost their spirit, strength and humanity.
Those negative examples just make kindness and self-sacrifice strike out from this mud even stronger.
My mind and soul these days have been with the brave people of Bosnia, especially the ones who sacrifice their time and energy (not to mention money) to help those less fortunate. Nothing seems hard for them, no village too far, no burden too heavy to carry wherever...
We all can help. By donating money. By giving up a couple of coffees, or a lunch. By helping out. By smiling and talking to people, making them forget their worries, even for a short minute. Or, if nothing, by a silent prayer and a promise that you will try to make a better world. You know, I am a hopeless dreamer, and I still think that is possible.
